Karma Speaks is committed to making karmaspeaks.com accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use to browse the web. We believe that access to astrological guidance and personal insight should not be limited by disability.

1. Our Commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This standard defines how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly test our site and address issues as they are identified.

2. Standards We Target

• WCAG 2.1 Level AA — our primary conformance target
• WAI-ARIA 1.1 — ARIA roles and attributes used where native HTML semantics are insufficient
• Section 508 — aligned as a secondary reference for clients using assistive technology in regulated environments

3. Accessibility Features

Keyboard Navigation

• All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard alone
• Focus indicators are visible on all focusable elements
• Tab order follows a logical reading sequence
• Skip-to-main-content link available at the top of every page

Screen Reader Support

• Semantic HTML5 elements used throughout (headings, lists, landmarks, tables)
• All images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked aria-hidden="true"
• Form fields include associated <label> elements and ARIA descriptions
• Dynamic content updates announced via ARIA live regions where appropriate

Colour & Contrast

• Text contrast ratios meet or exceed 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (WCAG AA)
• Interactive elements are identifiable by more than colour alone (shape, label, or pattern)
• Links are underlined or otherwise distinguished from surrounding text

Reduced Motion

• Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query
• When reduced motion is preferred, decorative animations are simplified or disabled
• No content flashes more than 3 times per second

Text & Typography

• Body text is set at a minimum of 14px; most body copy is 16px or larger
• Line height and letter spacing support readability at default browser zoom levels
• Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

Responsive Design

• The site is fully usable on screens from 320px wide upward
• Touch targets are at least 44x44px on mobile viewports
• No horizontal scrolling required at standard zoom levels

4. Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas currently under active improvement:

• PDF reports: Written consultation reports delivered as PDFs may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are working on tagged PDF export and will offer alternative formats on request.
• Video consultations (Zoom): Live captioning availability depends on the Zoom plan and host settings. Contact us in advance if live captions are required.
• Complex animations: Certain decorative section transitions may not fully satisfy WCAG 2.1 AA for users with vestibular disorders beyond the reduced-motion setting. We are reviewing these with each release.

5. Requesting Accommodations

6. Feedback

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact your local disability rights authority. For clients in the EU/UK, you may refer unresolved complaints to your national enforcement body under the Web Accessibility Directive or Equality Act 2010 respectively.
